A warm welcome from The Troutbeck Inn, we are nestled in the delightful hamlet of Troutbeck midway between Penrith and Keswick in Cumbria and are surrounded by breathtaking fells. The Inn offers a cosy, comfortable and relaxed base from which you can easily access all of the Lake District. Originally a railway hotel servicing the line between Penrith and Keswick in The Lake District.

The Troutbeck Inn & cottages have both been awarded a four star rating by the English tourist board.
The Troutbeck Inn Country Hotel is under new ownership since spring 2009 & has undergone complete refurbishment of all bar, lounge & restaurant areas. We hope that all customers, old & new, will appreciate the new look.
In addition to our seven en suite guest rooms we have three beautiful Four Star cottages, these are converted from former stables and are in the courtyard to the rear of the Inn. Each cottage is extremely spacious with everything you need for a self catering holiday in the Lake District.
The cottages are named after the fells that surround them, both Blencathra and Saddleback cottages have 2 bedrooms, one double one twin, then we have Little Mell Fell our romantic cottage for two. These are available on a self catering basis but you can spoil yourselves and dine in our restaurant for lunch or dinner.
We welcome dogs to stay in the Inn and our cottages by prior arrangement and they are very welcome in our bar.
Ideally situated with wonderful panoramic views and within easy reach of Helvellyn, Ullswater and Derwentwater. The more adventurous might prefer to experience the views from Sharp Edge on Blencathra or Striding Edge on Helvellyn or sample some of the many outdoor activities available at Rookin House activity centre one mile towards Ullswater.
Keswick lies 8 miles to the West and Penrith 8 miles to the East. Ullswater is 5 miles due South and has the villages of Pooley Bridge and Glenridding on its shores. A visit to Borrowdale is a must, to walk or to just drive and take in the beautiful views.
We are open all year to make the most of each delightful season. Autumn is especially charming and our winters are fresh and crisp with the fells normally covered in snow. What better way to ease into the Christmas spirit, relaxing by our open fire. |
